Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, fresh, detailed, elegant, minerals, figs, red fruity, bright and utterly seductive, this is mature Burgundy on a different level, one that is very rare, so pure and bright, exceptional. A rare treat indeed. Stunning length. Bottle #4 tasted. I went back to this one three times to confirm it. 97

Bright ruby. Sous bois, detailed, elegant, nuanced, scented, bit earthy but opens up brightly with air, getting more floral. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, bright, figs, dates, detailed and transparent, flirting when it got enough air. Followed it for about 25 minutes. Bottle #1 tasted. 95

Bright ruby, brick rim. Tobacco, sous bois, figs and dates, elegant nose of this one but a bit more austere and rustic texture brings the palate down a bit. It is besides the other magic bottles that this one is letting you down, t would have been a very fine experience on its own. Bottle #6 tasted 93

Bright ruby, towards orange rim. More developed colour then the first two, more earthy, more dates and cherries, liquorice notes. Fresh acidity, ripe and few tannins, more evolved in every aspect, still elegant and very charming but lacks some concentration. The first two are quite a leap ahead of this one. That is bottle variations for you, first hand. And they keep coming! Bottle 3 tasted 92

MAY 16 Ruby, towards brick rim, quite a bit of sediments. Floral, red berries, some cherries, bit sweet and sour and sous bois. Floral, violets, detailed nose, some spices. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, still quite firm, structured, almost a touch bitter. Liquorice notes, red berries, touch woody still, juicy, cherries, layered, deeper, long. Served blind, with answer in hand, the youngest bottle of this. 96

OCT 13 2040 bottles made. Bottle directly from the cellars of Drouhin. Bright ruby, thin garnet rim. Gorgeous nose, scented, red berries, floral, nuanced, layered, superb nose. Slightly exotic spicy, minerals and with air a touch of sous bois, just a touch. Stunning nose. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, fresh, lively, nuanced, elegant, sublime,  a backbone of structure and acidity that carries the flavors, very long finish. I've always had a bit of an issue with Bonnes Mares, finding them a bit rough, maybe lean and edgy. Everyone tells me they need to age, and this is one of if not the oldest I've had, and this is absolutely superb. 95
