MAY 13 Bright ruby. Started out a bit edgy and oaky, but after more than an hour in decanter, spicy, scented and red berries. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, fruity and elegant, slightly sweet fruit, ripe, refreshing finish. 92

JUN 12 Bright ruby. Quite intense nose of strawberries, redcurrant's and vanilla. Slightly earthy underneath, almost mineraly, violets and the most seductive roses you may find. Fresh acidity, almost raw texture, getting more rounded and balanced with a lot of air. Tannins ripe and polished, fairly full bodied for Burgundy, playful and lively, plays on all levels. Tender, delicate, transparent, subdued, yet intense. This is not a wine everyone will, or can appreciate. For those that are able to unlock and evaluate it, it will repay you in abundance. Magnificent aftertaste, not waves, but more like a surfer's wet dream, of tastes, impressions, perfection in the finish. Stunning. Truly long. 96-97

2002 Ponsot Clos de la Roche Vieilles Vignes

Bright ruby, garnet rim. Detailed, scented, layered, some figs, red berries, floral, violets, this one is unfolding superbly these days with a long way to go. Sublime nose. Silky layers of scent. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, fresh, brilliant, playful, red berries, some figs and starting sous bois, nuanced, layered, some tobacco, absolutely stunning. Very long finish. 98

1996 Ponsot Chapelle-Chambertin

JUN 16 Bright ruby. Red berries, tight, difficult nose. With lots of air, more detailed, some floral notes, coming around more. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, bright red fruits, juicy, starting to drink nicely, detailed, before a somewhat lean finish, lovely but lacks something to be really fine. 90
