MAR 13 Served blind. Pale golden. Minerals, some citrus, quite rich expression, fat style. Fresh acidity, lively, elegant, maybe more elegant palate than nose, on the ripe side but very refreshing. Playful, very long. Maybe a bit too up front and rich? 92

2005 Comte Lafon Montrachet
Straw yellow. Starting out with honey, nuts and butter, with more air all kinds of citrus and some orange flowers as well, superb minerality, detailed. Fresh acidity, creamy texture, bit rich and nutty, intense, layered, slight caramelized apples note, some bitter notes, orange peel, smoky minerals, ever so slightly rough in the incredibly long finish, minutes. 97

APR 15 Bright ruby. Spicy, vanilla, pepper, cinnamon, mint, red berries, minerals beneath, detailed nose. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, red berries palate, tight, firm, detailed, spicy, leaner, long if narrow finish. Seems to have been a bit barrel happiness making it from my point of view. Long. 93

1995 Comte Lafon Meursault 1er cru Les Perrières

AUG 17 Pale golden. Apricots, apples, layered, minerals, nuanced, detailed, intense of ripe citrus nose. Fresh acidity, ripe, fruity, minerals, detailed, playful and layered, rich yet with a flinty minerals and ripe lemons juice keeping it focused. Very long and stunning concentration. 96

1985 Comte Lafon Meursault Clos de la Barre
JAN 14 Pale golden. Lots of smoke and vanilla, seems to be a lot of barrels. Behind a lot of nuances, floral and even some tropical notes, flinty. Fresh acidity, fruity, bit ripe, elegant minerality, some citrus, again that floral touch and slight tropical note. Just a bit short, but lovely. Served blind, I found both Meursault and Lafon but missed the vintage by fifteen years, I was on 2000. 93
