NOV 10 Straw yellow, intense oaky and minerals first, with more air, the oak is less obvious, but still showy, lemons, apples, spices, vanilla. Creamy texture, fat and good acidity, long length. Hopefully the fruit will manage the oak for cellaring. 93

DEC 10 Pale lemon yellow, lots of vanilla minerals and flint. Butter, lemon and spices on the palate, a bit much toast in the finish, oaky, butter and popcorn finish. Still a bit much oak

OCT 09 Strågul, intens av flint og mineraler, noe sitrus, noe fat, epler. Elegant syre, flott balanse, elegant og intens, gi den ett år eller to til for fatet, lang finish, mineralene er tydelige. 88

2005 Lucien le Moine Bourgogne Blanc
APR 11 Golden, massive nose, oaky and very ripe fruit, almost tropical and sweet. Fat texture and towards low acidity, big and flabby feel, smoky finish. 78

SEP 09 Ruby med bred tegl kant, elegant fruktig nese, noe urter og stilk, fat lær, jordbær, snev av krydder. Litt sødmefull, fin balanse, ok syre, litt lukket og kort finish. Trenger tid. 90

2004 Lucien Le Moine Echezeaux
MAY 13 Pale ruby. Some asparagus over somewhat unripe strawberries, floral notes and oak that gives in fairly quickly and renders it fruitier. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, leaner but fresh body, a little bit sweet (14%) long vanilla finish. 91

2004 Lucien Le Moine Montrachet
OCT 09 Sitrongul, dekantert i 3 timer, stadig lukket, flotte mineraler, lime, sitrus, epler og pære, nøtter, utrolig eleganse. Deilig syre, superb balanse, meget kompleks, syren jobber fantastisk mot mineralene og frukten, suverent lang finish. Trenger mange år enda. 96

2004 Lucien Le Moine Corton Charlemagne
SEP 04 Lyst sitrongul, intens, endel fat uten at det blir ubehagelig, mye mineraler, litt fet. Fin syre, moden frukt og svært elegant og kompleks, nøtter, vanilje, smør, flott finish. 91

2002 Lucien Le Moine Bonnes Mares
OCT 09 Rubinrød med syltynn rosa kant, fioler, blåbær, noe fat og vanilje, elegant frukt, snev av kaffe og mokka. Flott syre, mye og modne tanniner, pen frukt og elegant litt kort finish. Relativt kompleks. 88

2002 Lucien Le Moine Vosne Romanée 1er Cru Beaux Mont
AUG 10 Dark ruby, served blind, this dark fruit and a lot of vanilla aromas did not get any of us to Burgundy at all. Eucalyptus, plums, blackberries, spices, I had a zinfandelish feel, but without the alcohol, blended with an elegant syrah. It was chocking to find out that this was a Vosne......
84

2001 Lucien Le Moine Clos de la Roche
SEP 09 Lyst ruby, tegl kant, fin lett floral nese, noe tørket frukt, lær og løv. Fin syre, noe fattanniner, strukturert, litt urter og grønt, fresh, fruktig og elegant. Lang finish. 91

2000 Lucien Le Moine Bonnes Mares
MAY 10 Ruby, towards brick rim. Clean strawberry, some earthy and leafy undertones, vanilla and even herbs. Starting to show pedigree, incredible structure, some tannins needs time still, but I feel they will integrate perfectly, give it five years or so, fresh acidity, very long finish. My oldest LLM, and I have been worried about the excessive oak, but this one is showing that things seems to go together in the end. 90

The duo that forms Lucien le Moine, Mounir and Rotem Saouma, told me that if I was to write about their wines, I had to tell people that their wines need three to four hours of decanting before drinking.
